Participants of this meeting included representatives of the Faculty of Biology and Soil Sciences, Institute of Ecology and Geography, Faculty of Journalism and Sociology, Institute of Governance and Territorial Development, Faculty of Law and Graduate School of Information Technologies and Information Systems who take an active part in international scientific collaboration of the University. The meeting was devoted to the program "Science for Peace and Security" (SPS), designed to support collaboration between scientists from NATO member states and partner countries associated with NATO, including Russia.

During the meeting, program curator Dr. Deniz Yüksel-Beten made a presentation introducing detailed features of the program, the types of grants (seminars, training and long-term projects) and the key priority areas of NATO: nanotechnology, optics and microelectronics as advanced technologies for safety, as well as safety ensuring environmental issues.
The participants were asked specific questions about the application process, features of the program, and discussed possible ideas of joint projects. Thus, scientists and professors of the University took advantage of a unique opportunity to receive firsthand information, and the new format of the meeting proposed by the External Relations Office, in turn, has been unanimously recognized as a very effective way of information and consulting support to international cooperation.
