Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies and KFU sign cooperation agreement

Today, August 14, Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies (KRET), a subsidiary of the state corporation Rostec, and Kazan Federal University signed a cooperation agreement.  

The ceremony took place at the 2014 International Engineering Technologies Forum. The cooperation agreement enables to pool efforts to implement educational programmes and researches aimed to create commercial and military high technology scientific products, competitive in the Russian and world markets.

The renewable agreement signed by Igor Nasenkov, KRET 1st Deputy Director, and Ilshat Gafurov, KFU Rector will continue till 31 December 2018.

"Cooperation with one of the oldest universities of Russia will contribute to the  development of  research, technological, industrial and intellectual potential of the Concern enterprises," Igor Nasenkov underlines, "One of the key goals is to train highly qualified personnel, required for the implementation of the national policy in modern radio electronic systems."

Ilshat Gafurov, in his turn, stated that the Kazan University is well on the way to develop into a research university out of the classical educational institution. "An important role here belongs to the integration with a real economy sector; our university closely cooperates with industrial enterprises. And the agreement signed today proves it," he said.   

The collaboration of KRET and KFU will focus on the development and production of national identification means, measurement equipment, electric connectors and cable products, electronic warfare and aviation electronics.

The cooperation agreement is also aimed at personnel training, retraining, advanced training and development of innovative technologies.

KRET will assist KFU in establishing research laboratories and departments with their branches at its enterprises. It is planned to expand the range of university's academic programmes based upon real Russian economy requirements for human resources. KRET experts will take part in the educational process and researches, lecture, deliver workshops, run seminars, exhibitions and forums.

The cooperation agreement will help unite theory and practice; university students will undertake internship at KRET. Educational programmes will be adapted to the Concern's standards. It is planned to assign additional allowance to the KRET programme students.

The Concern will assist KFU students and postgraduates with their graduation theses on KRET products and employment at its enterprises.  

Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies (KRET) has prepared a project of a research and industrial technological cluster to be founded in Kazan by 2018, aimed to develop and produce trusted two-in-one information security systems. The Concern?s goal is to launch a production line for perspective civil and military goods.

The Concern had already signed cooperation agreements with 24 universities.

A significant share of the Concern?s revenues comes from avionics and operational systems. KRET controls approximately 40% of the military avionics market.

The Concern is developing avionics for the leading Russian aircraft, including Su-35S, Ka-52 Alligator, Mi-171A2, Yak-130, Il-476, and Tu-204SM, the most modern Russian line aircraft, as well as the Soyuz-TMA spacecraft. Thus, KRET is a supplier for the major Russian aircraft producers, such as United Aircraft Corporation and Russian Helicopters.

Currently, the enterprises of the Concern are among the world leaders and the top Russian designers and producers in the field of electronic warfare equipment and suites, as well as IFF systems, which have no foreign equivalents.
