World-class professors lecturing in KFU

Reflecting on the first half of 2014, we keep on reminding the events held in the university as a part of KFU Development Programme. Over 30 key Russian and foreign lecturers and experts became the professors of KFU.  The KFU Department of HR Development has looked back to those who worked in the university.

At the end of March the Institute of Psychology and Education invited Vyara Gyurova, PhD, Professor of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” (Sofia, Bulgaria) for the second time to lecture on Management in Education for students, postgraduates, and professors. She is a leading Bulgarian expert in andragogy and adult education management; head and participant of numerous international educational projects, such as Socrates-Grundvig Project “Adding support skills for European Teachers (ASSET)” (Morecamble College, Lancaster (UK), EuropeAiD/120163/D/SV/BG on the problems of adult professional education (GOPA Germany). Vyara Gyurova is also a scientific supervisor of the Russian-Bulgarian Comparative Research Laboratory of the KFU Institute of Psychology and Education. 

In March-April 2014 the KFU Institute of Economics and Finance engaged Rustam Ibragimov, Cand. Sc. (Physics and Mathematics), PH.D. in Economics, professor of the Business School of the Empire College London (UK) to deliver lectures on Financial Econometrics to masters and postgraduates. The professor's researches have made a significant impact into a wide range of issues of econometrics, financial economics, statistics and theory of probability. His h-index is 8. Rustam Ibragimov's lectures based upon modern scientific results of econometrics including those received by the professor, enable to up­date and expand the methodology of Master's programmes in economics, to up level the econometrical competence of masters and postgraduates trained at KFU Institute of Economics and Finance.

In April 2014 the Modern Educational Technologies were lectured by Nicholas John Rushby, Ph.D. in Pedagogics, Chief Editor of “British Journal of Educational Technology” (London, UK), invited by the KFU Institute of Psychology and Education. Professor Rushby is a famous expert in a wide range of issues on education, instruction, development and application of info-communication teaching technologies. The cooperation of KFU with a scholar and journal editor of such a level will promote the University at the international level and create a system of the open information exchange with the outside environment.

At the end of May 2014 Stefano Bianchini, Professor of Politics and History of Eastern Europe, University of Bologna, School of Political Science, Director of the Research Centre of Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans; Italian political expert, a major researcher of the Balkans and Eastern Europe problems.  The area of his academic interest is extremely wide –politics and political culture of the Balkans, human rights and diversity management in South-Eastern Europe, problems of ethnic groups and minorities in South Eastern Europe, geopolitics and international relations in Eastern Europe, Yugoslavian history. Professor Bianchini spent several days lecturing to the students of the Department of Politology.
