KFU becomes the center of gravitation

June 30 - Kazan Federal University became the center in the field of gravitation science for a week. Today, on June 30, two important events were launched: the International Conference on Gravitation, Cosmology and Astrophysics - RUSGRAV15 and International School on Gravitation and Cosmology "GRACOS-2014".

RUSGRAV is conducted every three years in different universities of the country. International Conference on Gravitation, Cosmology and Astrophysics is held for the second time at Kazan University. The organizers included the Russian Gravitational Society, the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, the Russian Peoples' Friendship University, Kazan Federal University and Centre for Gravitation and Fundamental Metrology. The opening ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Russian Gravitational Society Vitaly Melnikov, Academician Alexey Starobin, KFU Vice-Rector for Research Danis Nurgaliyev, Director of Lobachevsky Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics Vladimir Chugunov, Head of the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling Yury Ignatyev.
