Rustam Minnikhanov visits KFU Engineering Center

On June 10, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Vasil Shaikhraziev, KFU Rector Ilshat Gafurov and KAMAZ General Director Sergey Kogogin paid a visit to the Engineering Center of Kazan Federal University in Naberezhnye Chelny.

The KFU Engineering Center will train specialists for industrial enterprises taking into account the market needs. Director of KFU Naberezhnye Chelny Institute Makhmut Ganiev demonstrated a 3-storeyed laboratory complex to the guests. It is planned to launch more than 20 laboratories in fields of the newest technologies with the total cost of equipment about 200,000 million rub. At present the Center is equipped by 70%; the rest of the equipment will have been installed by September.

Rector of Kazan Federal University Ilshat Gafurov emphasized that the Center is of significant importance to the University. The students who dream to become excellent engineers will have a deep understanding of the real economy issues. Moreover, the laboratories will serve as the human resources pool for leading companies. For example, three KAMAZ top-managers (chief design manager, chief production manager and head of R&D section) are also heads of the departments at the KFU Naberezhnye Chelny Institute. The same center is to be open soon in Kazan. 

Kazan Federal University will promote innovations and their implementation in Russia. “In order to achieve this goal we need mutual interests of employers presented by business structures and large companies, authorities presented by mayor of the city and our federal university”, mentioned Ilshat Gafurov.
