At the invitation of the Algerian side, on May 4, the delegation of Kazan Federal University began the touring of Algerian universities.

The delegation consists of Director of External Relations Department Andrei Krylov, Associate Professor of Regional Geology and Mineral Resources at the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technology Victor Izotov and the employee of the department Rezug Lareydzh .

The delegation will visit the University Of Boumerdes (Boumerdes), University of Bouira and the University of the Chaldeans Merbah (Ouargla). The objective of the visit is to develop contacts with this rapidly developing region of Africa as Algeria is located in the continent 's largest oil and gas fields. The promising areas of cooperation with young Algerian universities include professional training, both on the university scale and for developing national economy; postgraduate studies of talented Algerian scientists at KFU; joint research in several areas.

Algerian colleagues are interested in harnessing the KFU potential in mathematics, mechanics, chemistry, biotechnology and nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, information technology, photonics and nanophotonics. Algerian specialists require specialized training for maintenance of high-tech facilities. Algerian colleagues are also interested in the scholar exchange for delivering courses on topical issues of academic interchange of information, including publications in the field of geology and mineral resources and hydrocarbons, as well as in the implementation of the results of joint research work .

The Government of Algeria is interested in preparing their own experts at leading universities in the world and provides the necessary funding to universities. It should be noted that Algerian students usually do not pay for their studies, they are provided with free food and accommodation in the university campuses, as well as free travel on public transport. Training of highly qualified staff for Algeria improves the quality of education, facilitates international cooperation and promotes friendly relations between the peoples of Algeria and the Russian Federation.
