Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia told about major global threats and risks

On April, 18 Kazan Federal University was visited by Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Tazhin.

He delivered a lecture dedicated to Strategy of President of Kazakhstan “Kazakhstan-2050” in the context of global challenges of the 21st century

KFU Rector Ilshat Gafurov introduced the guest. He mentioned that presence of Mr. Tazhin in our walls was considered as the recognition sign of historical merits and contribution of Kazan University to the development of relationships between Russia, Republic of Tatarstan and Kazakhstan.

To support this fact Ilshat Gafurov told about solemn opening of commemorative plaque to Zhangir – khan who was the prominent Kazakh politician, visited Kazan University and maintained with this institution research and cultural relations. Historical traditions remain even today. In particular, 6 Kazakhstan leading universities are KFU partners, in addition, increases the number of Kazakh citizens studying in our university, this year 200 Kazakh students are in our university.

Relationships between countries are not limited only to academic sphere, there was established a joint venture with famous engineering company in geology and oil-field development Kaspian Energy Research, Kazakhstan cooperates with KAMAZ and Nizhnekamskneftekhim.

Addressing to the audience, Marat Tazhin informed that trade turnover between Russia and Kazakhstan is RUB 24 bln per year.  No presidents meet so often than ours do.

Returning to the lecture topic Mr. Ambassador explained the reason why President of Kazakhstan formulated the strategy up to 2050. That is a very important leader feature to be able to forecast and Mr. Nazarbaev possesses it. Moreover, a lot of international organizations and countries accept their strategies up to 2050. This is not an abstract or symbolic figure, but the furthest forecast frame.

The topic which was covered by Mr. Ambassador was the most important part of the strategy.
