KFU hosts a meeting with representatives of ICRC dedicated to 150 years of its humanitarian action worldwide with a purpose of introducing Red Cross Committee as a potential employer. 

The event started with a film depicting peculiarities of work at the International Committee of the Red Cross. It gave information on the scope of main activities such as protection of civilians, family reunion, compliance with laws, healthcare and visiting detainees. Experienced staff in the film talked about what personal qualities one must have to perform successfully under the Red Cross mission. The main focus was on stress resistance: work has to be done in combat zones where you have to make right decisions in extreme conditions. In addition to humanitarian aid, the people who are involved in the conflict against their will are in great need of psychological support.

Recruiters Liz Harris and Tatiana Jolivet talked about the organization's activities. "A person working for the Red Cross, should know as many languages ​​ as possible, however English and French are essential, - said Liz Harris. - It is also important to understand that our work is extremely hard. And it is not just about the conditions in which we find ourselves - icy cold, oppressive heat, lack of opportunity to fully meet our household needs. We almost do not notice them, and do not have time to think about them because sometimes have to work around the clock. It is much harder that we have to be psychologically ready to rush somewhere in the world and dedicate ourselves to the work which is truly rewarding in the long run".
