KFU Will Become a Partner of the World Aquatics Championship 2015

Tatarstan started involving its higher education institutions in preparation for the World Aquatics Championship 2015 to be held in Kazan. At the sitting of the Coordination Council for Educational Work under Council of Rectors of Tatarstan Universities held on the 13th of March nine higher education institutions were officially declared noncommercial partners of the Championship.

Kazan Federal University will become a partner university of the World Aquatics Championship organisers. The corresponding agreement signing with one of the largest Russian universities is scheduled for April, 2014.

Kazan National Research Technological University, Kazan National Research Technical University n.a. A. N. Tupolev, Kazan State Power Engineering University, Volga Region State Academy of Physical Education, Sport and Tourism, TISBI Management University, Institute of Economics, Management and Law, Kazan State Medical University, Kazan State University of Architecture and Construction, Kazan Cooperative Institute (subsidiary of the Russian Institute of Cooperation) have already joined the team of organisers of the World Aquatics Championship in Kazan.

According to the Deputy Director General and Director of the Administration of the Executive Directorate of “Kazan 2013”, Ms. Larisa Sulima, start of cooperation with universities opens the most important stage of preparation for the forthcoming World Championship. It will help to solve the most pressing problem – staff problem, as far as universities will be responsible for volunteer training. Now one cannot imagine any event without volunteers. The 10 Kazan universities will continue the work of volunteer centres organised for Universiade and focus on first-year students who didn’t manage to take part in Universiade volunteer program.

Altogether 2 500 volunteers will be involved in the World Aquatics Championship. 500 of them will be representatives of Russian regions, 50 – representatives of different countries of the world, all the rest will be from Tatarstan. As the quantity of volunteers engaged in the World Aquatics Championship is must lower than that involved in Universiade (20 thousand volunteers), the standard of requirements to candidates has been significantly raised. A very good knowledge of foreign languages and experience of organisational work are the most important of these requirements.
