Canadian Professor delivered public lectures in KFU

On February, 21 Professor from the University of Calgary, Sasha Tsenkova, came to KFU.  She delivered public lecture Sustainable cities in the Institute of Management and Territorial Development.

Sasha Tsenkova told about sustainable cities development strategy under conditions of globalization and climate change.

During the lecture were discussed issues concerning planning and design concept in diverse economic, institutional and cultural conditions on the example of Europe and Northern America. Moreover, she analyzed strategic decisions of “green” development, suburbs and old industrial areas remodeling.

The part of lecture was devoted to discussion with audience. Undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students as well as faculty members could ask the lecturer any questions.  The majority of audience was interested in Professor`s  impression on Kazan.  She told that was impressed by our city and very beautiful building were located in our center.

On February, 22 Sasha Tsenkova will deliver another lecture “Post-socialist transformation: study of housing policy and practice”.  

Professor will give a comparative overview of the achieved progress in housing policy in 27 countries of Central and European Europe defining important tendencies and problems in housing transformation under conditions of transfer to democracy and market system.
