KFU Scientists Passed the Dossier of the Nomination 'Bulgar Historical and Architectural Complex' to UNESCO World Heritage Centre

The Director of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies of KFU, Mr. Ramil Khayrutdinov, took part in the renewed dossier passing ceremony in Paris.

According to Resolution 37 of the Session of the World Heritage Committee, which recognized the Outstanding universal value of the Bulgar historical and architectural complex, and recommendations of ICOMOS Consulting mission (ICOMOS – International Council on Monuments and Sites), “in connection with recognition of importance of Bulgar, particularly, of its religious and cultural value it has had through many centuries” Tatarstan was offered to supplement the nomination dossier on the basis of criteria (II) and (VI) and submit it to UNESCO on February 01, 2013, at the latest.

A great work on extended nomination preparation was done by the Republican fund “Vozrozhdenie” (Renaissance) under the guidance of the first President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mr. Mintimer Shaymiev, KFU scientists, representatives of leading Tatarstan and Russian research centres, and international experts.

The leader of the working group for dossier preparation, Mr. Ramil Khayrutdinov, underlined that authors of the aforesaid document devoted a special attention to justification of the second and sixth criteria divulging a unique cultural and spiritual role of Bulgar people, their contribution to the world civilization and Heritage Object Management Plan.


On January 29 – 30, 2014 in UNESCO World Heritage Centre in Paris the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan for Social Affairs and Exe­cutive Director of the Republican fund “Vozrozhdenie”, Ms. Tatyana Larionova, and Mr. Ramil Khayrutdinov passed the nomination dossier to the Director of the Centre, Mr. Kishoru Rao, who thanked Tatarstan for fruitful joint work.

Held during the visit were negotiations with the Permanent Representative of the RF to the UN for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO), Ms. Eleonora Mitrofanova. The negotiations were devoted to development of further cooperation in the sphere of implementation of cultural and scientific projects and UNESCO programs.
