Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Global Education, Mr. Gordon Brown, discourses on problems of education in the world. He is sure that UNESCO concept, saying that education spreading is the best way to eradicate poverty, improve people’s health and wellbeing, stimulate economic growth and bring up civil responsibility, is reflected in the initiative of UNO titled “Global Education First”.

For too long universal education yielded leading positions to other large-scale international movements for changes. By now education has occupied its rightful place in the world politics agenda once again for two new reasons, calling to life the new initiative “Global Education First” taken by the UN Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon. First of all, young people decided to defend girls’ and boys’ right to universal education. Secondly, one more global power helped to make education the cornerstone for majority of the countries, namely growing recognition of importance of education by specialists studying reasons for success or recession of certain countries.
