1007 research centers under new managing structure

January 11 – The official web-site of the Russian government published the list of research organizations that will now be managed by a newly established Agency of Research Organizations.

The list consisting of 1007 research centers comes as a result of the previously approved Federal Law on Russian Academy of Sciences and its reorganization.

The official list includes almost all research and development centers and their servicing organizations. Some of these organizations are globally recognized brands such as Mathematical Institute named after Steklov, institutes in Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Pushchino, Chernogolovka; Academic research and educational center of nanotechnologies established by Nobel prize winner Zhores Alpherov in St.-Petersburg.
