Deputies will bring students back to museums

In the first reading the State Duma adopted the bill which would provide students with the opportunity to visit museums for free. This initiative was introduced by representatives of the United Russia party – Heads of Duma Committee for Culture and Education, Stanislav Govorukhin and Vyacheslav Nikonov.

 As explained the authors of the bill, when the new law On education came into effect, students lost their right for free access to state and municipal museums. The new bill grants bachelor, master and specialist students guarantee of the right for free access to state and municipal museums. Order of free admission to museums will be established by federal exe­cutive body authorized by the Russian government.

Moreover, according to the bill citizens under 18 will be allowed to visit museum for free, but only once a month.

State Duma does not except the fact that in the second reading there will include free admission to museums for students of colleges vocational school and pupils.
