KFU in International Ranking

Kazan Federal University was ranked 13th among Russian universities in QS rankings for BRICS countries.

Universities in Russia get their highest scores for faculty to student ratio – a measure of number of academic staff employed per student enrolled, which aims to give an indication of universities’ commitment to teaching. Indeed, the majority of ranked universities in Russia are within the world’s top 200 on this indicator.

This year for the first time, this rating was made jointly with "Interfax" agency. Universities of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa were evaluated by adapted methodology reflecting major priorities in these countries, therefore, ranking facilitates comparison of BRICS universities’ progress in key areas.

As reported, the rating of BRICS universities takes into consideration eight criteria, including academic reputation, reputation among employers, the ratio of teachers and students, the percentage of staff with doctorate degrees, the number of scientific publications on the number of scientific and pedagogical staff, cited scientific publications, the ratio of foreign students to teachers and the overall ratio of foreign students.
