Tendencies of sociological education discussed at KFU

On December, 10 a round table dedicated to Modern sociological education: development tendencies was held at KFU. It was commemorated to the 30-th anniversary of KFU Department of Social Studies.

This event was opened by Director of the Institute of Mass Communications and Social Sciences Nail Mukharyamov. Moderator was Vice-Rector of the Higher School of Economics Sergey Erofeev. He outlined a few tendencies that appear in the modern education. On the one hand, decay of sociological education in Russia and increasing anxiety, and, on the other hand, creation of new theoretical and methodological horizons for students.

All the tendencies were covered in the reports by Howard Davis, Professor from the University of Wales, representatives of the Higher School of Economics – Professor Edward Ponarin and Associate Professor Oksana Zaporozhets.

Activities commemorated to the anniversary will last up to December, 13. Program includes round tables, public lectures by Edward Ponarin, Greg Simons (Sweden) and official occasion to be held on December, 12 at 2:30 p.m.
