On the 27th of November a delegation of young representatives of creative associations from CIS countries visited KFU. Journalists from Moldova, Belorussia, Ukraine, Armenia, Tadzhikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan arrived in Kazan.

Vice-Rector for International Relations, Mr. Linar Latypov, Adviser to the Rector – the head of public information centre, Mr, Yuriy Alaev, representatives of the Institute of Physics, Butlerov Institute of Chemistry, Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology, institute of Mass Communications and Social Sciences took part in the meeting, which was organised in the conference hall of the Board of Trustees.

After KFU presentation the journalists used this opportunity to ask questions. Thus, they were interested in how and why several higher education institutions had been united in one university. During communication the issues of staff training for national mass media, amounts of payment for study in the university and scientific activity were discussed, as well. As for Kazan University establishment, its scientific achievements and schools, the guests learned about that after an excursion in the Museum of History of KFU.

Journalists’ opinions.

Mr. Alexey Gavrilenko, Gamma TV channel (Ukraine): “I was impressed by the fact that Kazan University has so many buildings. We were told that they numbered over six hundred! I can note that the attitude to science is very serious here, a lot of scientific laboratories have been organised in KFU. I spoke to students, and they asserted that all opportunities for development both in scientific and other spheres were open to them. Formerly I only heard about your highly dynamic city, but today I received evidence that it is really dynamic and scientific.”

Ms. Svetlana Mikhovich, a special correspondent of Znamya Yunosti (Youth Banner) (Belorussia): “Unfortunately I didn’t manage to see everything, but I’ve got a mass of impressions. Kazan Federal University is a great mix of a classical university, where practically all subjects are studied, and a higher education institution meeting all dictates of time. Here one can feel a rich history, its own spirit! It is important to preserve them.”
