Federal universities signed a network cooperation agreement

On October, 4 was opened VII Baltic Educational Forum Mathematical education and contemporary world in Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (Kaliningrad). More than 500 researchers from 23 countries representing 75 universities and research organizations participated in major scientific event.

In the framework of forum was held meeting of the Club of Nine to which belong rectors of all Russian federal universities. Sobolev A.B., Head of the Department of State Policy in Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, presented report devoted to current trends in the system of Russian higher professional education and requirements set to universities that train highly qualified specialists.

Issues concerning cooperation between federal universities, development prospects for key areas as well as issues that may arise in universities in the case of terminating state financial support were discussed at the meeting of federal universities administration.

Riyaz Minzaripov, Vice-Rector for Education, noted that one of the most significant contemporary problems of universities was education quality.

Work groups of federal universities presented a number of proposals for improving cooperation between universities. They included: partner network projects, that allow undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate student as well as researchers simultaneously use the resources (infrastructure, human resources and research) of various partner universities that should facilitate education quality improvement.

Rectors of federal universities signed a cooperation agreement between federal universities in education and research work in the Cathedral upon completion of the forum.
