Kazan – Giessen: Start of a Joint Master?s Degree Program

Starting from this academic year a joint Master’s Degree program was launched by Kazan Federal University and J. Liebig University of Giessen (Germany). The program is implemented on the basis of the English language Master’s Degree program “Transition Management” of the University of Giessen and the Master’s Degree program “General and Strategic Management” of the Institute of Management and Territorial Development (IMTD), KFU.

The joint Master’s Degree program is geared to students with good marks and a very good knowledge of English, who are offered an opportunity to study a semester in the partner university after the first year of study and get two diplomas – the diplomas of Kazan and Giessen Universities. This year three students of the University of Giessen came to participate in the joint Master’s Degree program in KFU: Erna Pulay (Albania), Manuel Salgado (Mexico) and Hevan Gebreselassi Assfav (Ethiopia). Together with other Master’s Degree students they will attend a course of lectures delivered in the English language by teachers of the Institute of Management and Territorial Development, as well as of the Faculty of Law, Institute of Ecology and Geography and Institute of Mass Communications and Social Sciences.

For four students of KFU training in Giessen will start in October. The joint Master’s Degree program has become possible thanks to efforts of the managers of the two Master’s Degree departments: the Director of the IMTD, Professor, Doctor of Economics, Ms. N. G. Bagautdinova; the partner agreement supervisor, Professor M. Schmitz; the supervisor representing KFU, Director of the Department of Microbiology, Professor O. N.
