Delegation of South Kazakhstan Region Visited KFU

Today, on the 18th of September, representatives of South Kazakhstan region visited Kazan University.

Reference information. South Kazakhstan region is one of the largest regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. There are 4 cities of regional importance and 4 cities of district importance, as well as 11 agricultural districts included in the administrative and territorial structure of the region. The regional centre is the city of Shymkent. The territory of the region makes 117,3 thousand sq.km., its population is 2,4 mln people.

“Tatarstan’s innovation chain is of interest to us,” that was the main purpose of the visit, according to the Director of TOO Shymkent Innovatsia (Limited Liability Partnership), Mr. Abzal Daribaev. He noted that he considered innovation experience of Tatarstan to be progressive, that is why the guests were planning to visit other places in Kazan in addition to KFU. “Of course, everything starts with the university,” said Mr. Daribaev. “Staff is trained here. We were offered an excursion, and I must say that we were very impressed not only by the history of your university, but also by its current state.” The level of staff training for economics of Russia and Tatarstan, in Mr. Daribaev’s judgement, is very high, “that’s why opportunities for further cooperation with Kazan University are vivid.” Particularly, the Director of TOO Shymkent Innovatsia mentioned exchange of experience between KFU and UKGU named after M. Auezov as a line of cooperation in the first place. “We are planning to implement large-scale anchor projects,” said Mr. Daribaev, “including that in the sphere of oil refining. And here we consider cooperation namely with Kazan University as regards staff training.”

The delegation will stay in Kazan till tomorrow. There was a meeting of representatives of South Kazakhstan region with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mr. Ildar Khalikov, held today. The trip program also includes a visit of the delegation to Agroindustrial park and technopolis Khimgrad.
