Representatives of the Alexander Butlerov Institute of Chemistry succeeded at the International Student Competition

August 12-15 Isfahan (Iran) hosted the sixth International Student Competition in Chemistry. This year two Russian teams participated in the competition for the first time: teams from Moscow State University (MSU) and Kazan Federal University. Competing with the strongest teams from the Universities of Iran, China, Pakistan they showed very good results. KFU team took two bronze medals which were won by learners of the Alexander Butlerov Institute of Chemistry, pupils Alexei Sadykov and Mikhail Yagofarov. In team scoring KFU occupied the third place. Team was supervised by senior researcher of the unit of Physical Chemistry Igor Sedov. MSU students won 1 golden, 1 silver, 2 bronze medals and occupied the first place in team scoring.

Participants competed in 4 stages in various areas of Chemistry: inorganic, physical, organic and analytical. Igor Sedov noted that our team results were successful taking into account high level of assignments and the first-time experience in this event.
