Dmitry Khomyakov, a law student won the Universiade Bronze

Russian weightlifter, a 3-year student of KFU faculty of law is the bronze medalist of the Universiade in men’s 77 kg category.  

In the interview he admitted having lost the gold medal due to his own mistake. Dmitry Khomyakov expressed gratitude to all friends, relatives and sports fans who came to support him during the competition.

Dmitry Khomyakov lifted total 351 kg (163+188), the same weight as Ulugbek Alimov, Uzbekistan (154+197) who won the silver medal because his own weight was lighter. Iranian Rasoul Chadegani won with total 355 kg (157+198) having set 2 Universiade records.
