Master program in Human Rights to be implemented at the Faculty of Law

On June, 24 Kazan Federal University was visited by Senior Advisor on Human Rights to the UN Country Team in the Russian Federation, Ryszard Komenda, and Adviser of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Russian Federation, Rashid Aluash.

Guests met with Administration of the University and the Faculty of Law. The sides discussed opportunities for realization of Master Program in Human Rights at KFU on the basis of the Faculty of Law.

For information: Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Peoples` Friendship University of Russia, Moscow State Institute of International Relations  and Russian State University for the Humanities signed Agreement of Cooperation  in establishing joint Master Program in Human Rights.

Ryszard Komenda told about the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights underlining that in Russia it works according to the framework contract with the Government of the Russian Federation and all their activities are requests of our Government.

The guest noted that due to the enlargement of consortium, they studied various universities and Kazan Federal Universities met all requirements. The main peculiarity of the Master Program is mobility not only within consortium but also visits to foreign universities. When finishing the education, graduates will receive diplomas with addendum where will be specified all their details of training.

Ilshat Gafurov supported the idea of cooperation. He also suggested starting this Program since September, 1 on the basis of the Faculty of Law. Rector invited the guests to cooperate in other areas, e.g. with the Higher School of Municipal and Territorial Development through delivering lectures, organizing workshops and round-tables for employees undergoing further training.
