Employees of the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems visited Ritsumeikan University

On February 6-7, 2018, employees of the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems (LIRS) of the Higher Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) of Kazan Federal University (KFU) visited Ritsumeikan University, Japan. Professor Evgeni Magid made presentation on search and rescue robotics. During the lecture, he also spoke about the history and achievements of KFU, the development of robotics at KFU and the opening of an international Master degree program in Intelligent Robotics. The students and professors who attended the lecture were pleasantly surprised by the existence of such an educational program in a KFU, where teaching is carried out entirely in English, students have the opportunity to work with the most modern equipment, and teachers successfully motivate students to actively engage in scientific research and prepare serious scientific publications.

I can't even believe that somewhere in Russia there is such a program. As if you were talking about some top foreign university! " - one of those present, a Russian-speaking graduate student Nikolai Shumilin from Tomsk, shared his impressions about presentation.

During the visit, LIRS representatives had an intensive dialogue on cooperation between LIRS and the laboratories of the College of Information Science and Engineering at Ritsumeikan University, visited several laboratories, including the Robot Dynamics and Control Laboratory, the E-Society Laboratory. , Human-Centered Robotics Laboratory and others. They also got acquainted with the new international Bachelor degree program of Ritsumeikan University "Information Systems Science and Engineering", taught in English mainly by foreign professors.
