Today at KFU "UNICS" concert hall Professor of the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems (LIRS)  Evgeni Magid gave a lecture to 200 schoolchildren of grades 3-5 with a lecture on "Modern trends in the development of search and rescue robotics", including raising the question "Artificial intelligence and robotics: how can a person survive in the world of robots?". The performance was held within the framework of the KFU Children's University program. Students of the Children's University were very active in answering the lecturer's questions, and after the speech, the young participants themselves and their parents asked many questions about the future of robotics and robotics education. Many young participants, despite their young age, already have experience in designing and programming robot models assembled using LEGO EV3 constructors, are familiar with the work of Karel Čapek and Isaac Asimov, are engaged in robotics in various Centers for youth innovative creativity in Kazan and dream of connecting their future with robotics. The most frequently asked questions were: "How to enter the ITIS Higher Institute of Robotics?", "What knowledge should I have to become a good robotics engineer?" and "Is it possible to enter KFU if I study in a regular school, and not in the IT-lyceum of KFU?"

“Their enthusiasm, activity, thirst for knowledge, lack of fear to ask original questions and answer difficult questions from adults amazed me. One of the participants, having learned in a conversation that English is very important for mastering robotics, said in an adult way: “Great! My English is excellent, so everything will work out! " Yes, these are exactly the same children, of whom we at the ITIS Higher Institute will be able to educate the future leading experts in robotics of Russia ”- Professor Magid shared his impressions on the event.
