On April 19, a workshop of the working group № 27 of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Military Industrial Complex of the Russian Federation on the problematic issues of creating military and special-purpose robotic complexes.

The main directions and results of the group activities are:

1. Analysis of scientific and technical problems of the development of ground-based, sea-based, air-based and space-based robotics and the formation of ways to solve them.

2. Coordination and consolidation of efforts of customers, developers, designers, manufacturers of military and special purpose robotic complexes and their components at all stages of the life cycle of the robotic complex.

3. The formation of priority areas of fundamental, search, predictive research, applied research and development, within the framework of state and federal programs, competitions and grants organized by the Federal executive authorities (Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations, Russian Academy of Sciences, etc.), ensuring the creation of advanced scientific and technological groundwork in the field of creating promising samples of robotic complexes.

This time, the workshop of the working group № 27 was held on the basis of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. The problematic issues of personnel training in the field of design, production and application of robotic complexes for military, special and civilian purposes were discussed.

Professor of the Higher Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) KFU Evgeni Magid made a report on the topic “Analysis of requirements for specialists in the field of design, development, creation and application of military, dual and special purpose of robotic complex”. As an example of a program that trains personnel in accordance with such requirements, Professor Magid presented the master's program in intelligent robotics launched at the Higher Institute of ITIS KFU in September 2017, which is planned to be the best in Russia by 2021. The participants of the meeting were interested not only in the robotics disciplines and the excellent equipment of the program, but also in the methods of teaching unusual for Russian universities according to the Japanese system, including weekly individual and group scientific meetings with students, as well as game and competitive forms of homework and educational projects. After the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Defense approached Professor Magid with a proposal to send interested graduates of the program to serve in scientific robotic companies.
