Head of the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems took part in the XIV Multiconference on Control Problems

Head of the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems (LIRS) of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) KFU Professor Evgeni Magid took part in the XIV Multiconference on Control Problems (MCCP 2021), which was held from 27 September till 2 October 2021 in Divnomorskoe village, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar Territory. The Professor also acted as a co-chair of one of the conference sections.

Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences, the Institute of Control Sciences, RAS Roman Meshcheryakov was elected as the second co-chair of the section.

Multiconference MKPU-2021 included four parallel scientific and technical conferences:

- Robotics and mechatronics (RaM-2021),

- Management in distributed and networked systems (MDNSRS-2021),

- Aerospace systems management (ASM-2021),

- Management in advanced vehicles and systems (MAVaS-2021).

This year, MCCP 2021 is held in a mixed, full-time and remote format, due to the current epidemiological situation. The purpose of the Multiconference is to discuss the results of fundamental and applied research in the field of management processes and their practical application in various spheres of human activity.

The head of LIRS presented a scientific report on the topic:

«Localization of a mobile robot according to data from a third-party optical IoT camera using ROS.» The authors of the report are Assistant Professor Roman Lavrenov, a 4th year undergraduate student of the ITIS Institute Kirill Kononov and Evgeni Magid.

Evgeny Magid shared his impressions of participating in the Multiconference:

«The conference brought together a large number of leading Russian scientists in the field of robotics, control and other related fields. Academicians, corresponding members, directors of RAS institutes, rectors and vice-rectors of technical universities, heads of specialized departments and laboratories, chief and senior researchers within the busy conference schedule discussed both narrowly focused scientific issues and fundamental problems facing Russian science as a whole. Particularly lively discussions were caused by a round table on the promotion of Russian journals, which was held under the leadership of Dmitry Novikov, Director of the Institute of Control Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It was very interesting and informative to hear quite opposite opinions and heated discussions on publishing in Russian in Russian journals, expressed by leading Russian scientists and editors of journals»

Conference materials will be indexed in the RSCI database.
