A delegation from Kyrgyzstan visited the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems

On September 1, a delegation from Kyrgyzstan represented by the President of the «Salymbekov University» institution Amangeldi Zhumadilov and Honorary Consul of Brazil in Kyrgyzstan, Honorary President of the Dordoi Association Askar Salymbekov visited the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems (LIRS) of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) of Kazan Federal University.

The guests were greeted by the director of ITIS KFU Mikhail Abramsky and LIRS employees – associate professor Roman Lavrenov and Ramil Safin. They presented laboratory, showed rooms for lectures and practical classes, demonstrated the modern LIRS equipment to the guests and talked about the Master's program in robotics. LIRS employees presented current projects and demonstrated robots that students and laboratory staff are actively working with.

Particular attention of the guests was attracted by the «Servosila» mobile robot «Engineer», developed by a Russian company for search and rescue operations in natural disasters and in technical and demining operation. Moreover, industrial robotic manipulators KUKA KR 3 AGILUS, designed for high-precision tasks, assembly of small parts, handling, screwing, gluing, packing and checking caught guests’ interest. There are two KUKA KR 3 AGILUS robots in the laboratory. Visitors were also interested in the 3D printer, due to which students have even more research objects since there is an opportunity to print details. The guests appreciated high level of the research conducted in the laboratory and its modern equipment.
