Assistant Professor of the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems (LIRS) of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) KFU Roman Lavrenov took part in the International Forum Kazan Digital Week 2021 (KWD 2021), which takes place from September 21 to 24 September 2021 in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan.

The international forum Kazan Digital Week is an event aimed at developers and users of digital intelligent technologies, systems, services and services created on their basis. This year the forum is being held in a mixed (offline + online) format due to the epidemiological situation.

The Digital Week program focuses on smart technologies and innovative products based on them. The main thematic areas of the International Forum KDW 2021:

- Digital technologies in the field of agriculture,

- Digital technologies in the field of culture,

Russian and foreign experts take part in the work of the International Forum. This is one of the most important events of the Year of Science and Technology in Russia. For the second year, the Forum has been gathering experts, future and current leaders of digital transformation in public administration and business, providing an opportunity to discuss the most significant issues in the development of high technologies, check the progress of projects already being implemented and outline promising areas of cooperation. For this, thematic discussion sections, round tables, and master classes are held.

LIRS Assistant Professor Roman Lavrenov presented a scientific article on the topic:

«Modelling delivery system for a smart hospital in Gazebo». The authors of the report are LIRS post-graduate student and Research Assistant Ramil Safin, Roman Lavrenov, Professor Elena Maslak and Professor Evgeni Magid.

Roman shared his impressions after speaking at the International Forum KDW 2021:

«Unfortunately, not all experts who take part at the KDW 2021 forum have a complete image of the mechanism of artificial intelligence and suppose that it can be used to solve any problem. From abstract solutions to their real implementation, artificial intelligence requires significant improvement and setting up configurations, and even after that it will not be able to solve the assigned tasks for 100%.»
