From April 14 to 17, 2021, the XVI International Conference on Electromechanics and Robotics "Zavalishin’s Readings 2021" (ER(ZR)-2021) is held online.

The purpose of the conference is to exchange information and progressive results of research work of scientific and pedagogical stuff, young scientists, postgraduates, applicants and students in the field of automated control systems, electromechanics, electrical engineering, mechatronics and robotics.

The conference is held jointly with the XV International Scientific and Technical Conference "VIBRATION-2021. Vibration Technologies, Mechatronics and Controlled Machines" and the VI International Scientific and Technical Conference "Electric Drive, Electrical Technologies and Electrical Equipment of Enterprises" at the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation.

Kirill Kononov and Nikita Nikiforov, who are students of the Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems (LIRS) of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) KFU, took part in the XVI International Conference and made presentations. A third-year bachelor’s degree student Kirill presented a paper on the topic:

«External RGB-D camera based mobile robot localization in Gazebo environment with real-time filtering and smoothing techniques». Authors: Kirill Kononov, Roman Lavrenov, Liliya Gavrilova, Tatyana Tsoy.

Nikita, a fourth-year bachelor’s degree student, made a presentation on the topic:

«Pilot studies on Avrora Unior car-like robot control using gestures». Authors: Nikita Nikiforov, Tatyana Tsoy, Ramil Safin, Yang Bai, Mikhail Svinin, Evgeni Magid.

The Laboratory is taking part in the conference for the fourth year in a row. This year, a Head of the Laboratory Professor Evgeni Magid is a member of the Committee Program. Roman Lavrenov, a senior lecturer, is the Chairman of the Robotics and Automation section (Oral Session 7: Robotics and Automation).

The papers presented at the conference will be published in the proceedings of the conference in Russian and in English. The conference proceedings will be published in the "Smart Innovation, Systems and Technologies" journal and indexed in the Scopus database.
