University launches Telegram bot for international applicants

The bot will be available in Russian, English, Spanish, Chinese, and Arabic.

Head of International Admission Unit Rauf Sabirov explains, “The idea to launch the bot first emerged during the 2020 admission season. It contains information on programs, specializations, types of instruction, entrance exams, number of vacancies, and minimal required scores. The bot also assists in admission procedures.”

After a person first applies to the bot, they can later receive push notifications about their status in the admission process.

“While following the bot, prospective students can be in constant touch with the University. It’s being coded and maintained by employees of the Institute of IT and Intelligent Systems and the Institute of Computational Mathematics and IT,” adds Sabirov.

One Telegram bot – for migration status requests – has already been launched earlier.

In 2020, the total number of international enrollees amounted to 3,458 for major programs (undergraduate and postgraduate) and 661 for the Preparatory School for International Students.
