Representatives of the Embassy of India toured Kazan University

Deputy Chief of Mission Shri Binaya Srikanta Pradhan and First Secretary of the Economic and Commercial Wing Aseem Vohra arrived on March 20.

Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Timirkhan Alishev informed the guests about the University’s current standing. He mentioned that there are 132 Indian nationals currently enrolled in our institution, of which 127 study general medicine or dentistry.

After looking at the Medical Simulation Center and other biomedical infrastructure, the guests proceeded to meet with Indian students. Deputy Chief Pradhan had high praise for KFU’s potential and shared that the meeting gave him the impression that Indian students are very content with their studies and living conditions.

Vice-Rector Alishev noted that the University is interested in research and education cooperation with India, and not only in life sciences but in petroleum science as well.

Third-year student Singha Apurba said about the meeting with diplomats, “Studying at KFU is difficult but interesting. Binaya Srikanta Pradhan and Aseem Vohra left us a phone number to use in case we have any problems. But we haven’t had any so far. We can not only study but also work at KFU’s labs. We live in the Universiade Village, which is clean, beautiful, and comfortable.”

Another student, Ranjan Pranay, spoke about his thoughts on which path to choose – clinical cardiology or research career, “I am studying general medicine and working at one of the labs. I haven’t yet decided what to do after graduation. I may move on to residency and then to a PhD course.”
