A regular meeting of the Council was held at Kazan University on 15 February.

The first question of the agenda was the upcoming voting for the Rector of Kazan National Research Technical University. As per the regulations, the candidates must first be approved by the Council of Rectors. The four of them, among whom is KFU employee, Director of the Naberezhnye Chelny Institute Makhmut Ganiev, presented their vision of KNRTU’s future. The Council approved all four candidates after some deliberation.

Chairman of the Council of Rectors Ilshat Gafurov then offered to familiarize everyone with COVID vaccination schedules. The vaccines will be administered by KFU’s University Clinic.

In conclusion, Vice-Chairman of the Volgo-Vyatsky Bank (local branch of Sberbank) Rushan Sakhbiev spoke about the banks SberStudent system, an online accelerator for scientific startups. Sberbank pays for the short-term entry course on the platform, and applicants can then present their ideas to investors during a demo day.
