The awards were given out on 25 January – Russian Student Day.

The contest is organized by the League of Students of Tatarstan and comprises 29 nominations.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov was present at the event and gave away the diploma for Best Social Outreach Worker of the Year. KFU student Aliya Minnullina was the recipient.

Dr. Gafurov addressed the participants, “I sincerely hope that these student years will be memorable to you for a long time. You are the future of our nation. I hope that you lay the groundwork for new developments and will lead the country to a brighter future. Keep up the good work.”

Other winners from KFU were:

Athlete of the Year - Denis Davydov;

Media Personality of the Year - Taliya Tukhfatullina;

International Student of the Year - Zhonibek Zhafarov;

Student Project of the Year - 'Dormitory' software app.

Overall, the Uni submitted 127 of the 354 total applications in all nominations this year.
