Professor Galkin was a good friend and colleague whom I was proud to know. I first met him when I first visited Kazan in 2013, and we have remained friends ever since. Vladimir Ivanovich was an excellent representative of Kazan Federal University, and one of whom the university can be justly proud. My wife and I extend our condolences to Irina Vasil"evna and Professor Galkin"s whole family.
