Roman Lavrenov is Young Educator of the Year in Kazan

He works as Senior Lecturer at the Department of Intelligent Robotics.

The annual award is organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of Kazan. It comprises three stages. The first stage consists of a personal portfolio and a proposal about innovative educational techniques. Lavrenov submitted his course on Operating System for Robotics. In this course, students first learn ROS (a framework for robotics modeling and programming) and use it in simulation and real-world applications. This is the only such course in Russia.

The second stage included master classes, and the third, and final, stage consisted of a self-introduction and debates.

Lavrenov said that this victory is indeed the highest appreciation of his work and he was pleasantly surprised by the jury’s assurances that his triumph was a very impressive one.
