Cooperation agreement signed with Commissioner for Human Rights of Russia Tatyana Moskalkova

The online ceremony was held on 16 December.

The event was joined by signatories Tatyana Moskalkova and Rector Ilshat Gafurov, as well as First Vice-Rector Riyaz Minzaripov and Commissioner for Human Rights of Tatarstan Sariya Saburskaya.

The agreement covers such questions as education in human rights and freedoms, improvement of legal education, and research for human rights protection.

“These areas, I think, can comprehensively comprise legal education, culture, and conscientiousness among the youth and general population and help improve education,” said Rector Gafurov in his greeting.

He mentioned that Kazan University is ready to partake in preparing a new secondary school textbook on human rights.

Commissioner Moskalkova reacted, “By signing this agreement we join our forces to create a full-scale system of legal enlightenment.”

The sides also discussed the possibility of organizing the 8th International School on Human Rights by the Consortium of Russian Universities Implementing Programs in International Protection of Human Rights. The tentative tagline for the upcoming summer school is Human Rights for New Generations.
