Arbuzov Prize for Young Scientists in Chemistry given to two employees of Kazan Federal University

The ceremony was held at KFU on 27 November.

Greetings to the ceremony attendants were provided by Chairman of the Association of Young Scientists of KFU Mikhail Varfolomeev, Vice-Rector for Research Danis Nurgaliev and Director of the Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry (Tatarstan Academy of Sciences) Andrey Karasik

The first prize was awarded to two representatives of KFU:

Ramil Nugmanov, Research Associate, Laboratory of Chemoinformatics and Molecular Modeling, for his work ‘AI in synthetic chemistry’;

Mikhail Pugachyov, Senior Research Associate, Pharmaceutics Center, for his work ‘Synthesis and antitumor activity of vitamin B6 derivatives.’

The second prize went to Sofya Strekalova, Junior Research Associate, Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry (Tatarstan Academy of Sciences), for her work ‘Electrochemically induced phosphorylation of aromatic substrates with transition metal complexes.’

Diplomas were given out to three other contestants.
