Kazan University opens COVID hotline for students and employees

The hotline provides basic consultations regarding the ongoing pandemic.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer of the University Clinic Raushaniya Gayfullina explains, “The hotline was established as per Rector Ilshat Gafurov’s orders. The call center employs 4th year students of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology. Further down the line, volunteers may also join the team. The hotline works 8 am to 8 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 4 pm on weekends.”

The call center services incoming calls and makes active calls to those who have left requests for consultation about respiratory diseases. Apart from that, the University will deliver COVID medications to patients free of charge.

Student Viktoriya Sokova, one of the hotline workers, says, “I volunteered to join the hotline. When we make proactive calls, we ask people about their general condition, whether a physician has attended and treatment prescribed. As for incoming calls, the majority of them have to do with PCR tests and CT scans. There are approximately 20 calls per employee per day as of now.”

The hotline is available in Russian language at + 7 843 2065507.
