Ambassador of Tunisia Tarak ben Salem seeks expansion of ties with Kazan University

The Ambassador met with KFU staff on 10 November.

After touring the History Museum, Mr. ben Salem talked with KFU representatives – Vice-Rector for Research Danis Nurgaliev, Counsellor to the Rector Linar Latypov, and Associate Professor Mohammad al Ammari. The Ambassador was accompanied by Representative of the Tunisian National Tourist Office Neji Gouider and expert of the Russia-Tunisia Business Council Hassan Trigi.

Linar Latypov presented the University to the guests. The Ambassador replied, “I sincerely hope that my visit to Tatarstan will help develop friendly links between our countries. A number of important agreements were signed when President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited Tunisia in October 2018.”

He noted that Tunisian officials plan to organize a Tunisian Week of Culture in Tatarstan in spring 2021.

Mr. Trigi, who studied in Russia and has been living here for a long time, added, “My walk around the History Museum reminded me of my golden years of studying in Russia. We’ve decided to open a club of friend of Tunisia in Tatarstan. Hopefully, the University can partake in that.”

Tarak ben Salem then proceeded to meet with the leadership of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency. On 11 November, he plans to joins the Russia-Africa Scientific Forum co-organized by Kazan Federal University.
