Another appointment was announced on 20 October.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov thanked previous director Sergey Mosin for his achievements, such as establishing double degree programs with Shenzhen University and Czech Technical University in Prague. The Rector also noted excellent results shown by institute students during independent academic appraisals.

However, there are some pertinent issues in need of resolving, added Dr. Gafurov. Addressing Dmitry Chikrin, he said that the Institute needs to position itself more precisely and to advance in international rankings. The Institute also needs to fully merge with the Department of Communications and Informatization, an internal university administrative unit tasked with providing technical support.

A discussion was held regarding future developments within the framework of the planned Strategic Academic Leadership Program.
