Kazan Federal University to partner with Times Higher Education for the Virtual Digital Transformation Forum on 21 October 2020

The forum will be hosted on iVent.

Vice-Rector for Economic and Strategic Development Marat Safiullin comments, “The forum will be hosted for a third time, but only for the first time in a virtual format. International mobility has been significantly hindered by the pandemic. But there is an upside. We had 200 to 250 overseas contributors in previous iterations, and now we have a preliminary number of 1,500 applications. The event will cover digital transformation and its impact on the content of science and education.”

One of the key objectives is to help arrange communication between researchers who are engaged in KFU’s priority areas.

“KFU’s key priorities are medicine, hydrocarbons, IT and communications, and teaching, so the panels will be dedicated to those areas. We want to position the university as an actor in international research and education and to streamline the interaction between scientists and experts in those areas,” adds Dr. Safiullin.

The plenary sessions and the parallel sessions will be organized separately. A virtual expo for KFU, THE, and sponsors will also be held. KFU representatives will consult the participants on the questions of scientific cooperation.

The forum will be opened by Rector of Kazan University Ilshat Gafurov, Chief Knowledge Officer at THE Phil Baty, and tertiary education expert and consultant Jamil Salmi.
