Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems presented papers at the International Conference Series on Climbing and Walking Robots and the Support Technologies for Mobile Machines

Employees and students of the Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems (LIRS) of the Higher Institute of Information technologies and intelligent systems (#ITIS) of KFU Artur Khazetdinov and Bulat Abbyasov took part in the 23rd issue of the International Conference Series on Climbing and Walking Robots and the Support Technologies for Mobile Machine (CLAWAR 2020), which takes place from 24 to 26 August 2020. This year the conference is held in a remote (virtual) format.

The conference covers analysis (modelling and simulation) techniques, design approaches, and practical applications and realisations of robotic systems. Support technologies for the realisation of such systems, associated economic, ethical and social considerations are an integral part of the conference theme.

Topic of Artur’s report:

«RFID-Based Warehouse Management System Prototyping Using а Heterogeneous Group of Robots». Authors: Artur Khazetdinov, Andrey Aleksandrov, Aufar Zakiev, Evgeni Magid and Kuo-Hsien Hsia.

Topic of Bulat’s report:

«Comparative analysis of ROS-based centralized methods for conducting collaborative monocular visual SLAM using a pair of UAVs». Authors: Bulat Abbyasov, Roman Lavrenov, Aufar Zakiev, Tatyana Tsoy, Evgeni Magid, Mikhail Svinin and Edgar A. Martinez-Garsia.

Students shared their impressions of participating on the conference.

Bulat Abbyasov: “Any robotics conference is a great opportunity to take the beautiful. In this respect, the CLAWAR 2020 conference was not an exception for me. On the conference virtual platform I presented a paper related to solving the current problem of finding the optimal joint algorithm for constructing a 3D map of an unknown environment using onboard monocular cameras of a group of quadrocopters. Except from the good feeling of watching interesting and innovative works of foreign colleagues, I had the opportunity to learn from my compatriots about the outstanding success of Russian robotics”.

Artur Khazetdinov: “This is my first conference I take part in, which lasted for three days. Speakers from different countries took part at the event, there were many interesting works. I do not regret that I spoke at this event: thanks to it, I got a new valuable experience”.

Proceedings of the conference will be indexed in Scopus database.
