President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited the University School of Yelabuga

He arrived to Yelabuga to partake in the August Teachers’ Conference on 14th August.

“For Tatarstan, as well as for Russia as a whole, this is a unique project,” said Rector Ilshat Gafurov to the President and the accompanying persons. “It’s the first time when a standard secondary education school is included in a university’s structure.”

During the tour, he also explained that the school now has early specialization classes in IT, chemistry, biology, and social studies. Kazan University’s talent and equipment will be utilized in full to enhance the school’s performance. At research labs, high school pupils will be able to acquire skills characteristic of the university students.

Comprehensive digitization should serve as a response to the coronavirus challenge. Each classroom has multimedia equipment, a camera, a powerful workstation, a stable and high-speed Internet connection, commented the Rector.

The President paid attention to practice-oriented projects, such as Coworking 2.0 (an environmental sciences club for high-performing children), Scientific Collaboration House (a comprehensive supplementary education center for kids), and many others.

“We are implementing individualized trajectories for all participants of the educational process, from teachers to pupils. We also plan to introduce teaching assistants, set to be recruited from our students,” concluded Dr. Gafurov.

President Minnikhanov had high praise for this initiative and noted that Tatarstan really needs such educational centers as the University School.

Apart from him, the delegation included Minister of Education and Science of Tatarstan Rafis Burganov, President of the Russian Academy of Education Yury Zinchenko, and heads of municipal districts of Tatarstan.
