Center for Digital Transformation toured by university executives

A renovation was recently completed at this new administrative department.

In his comment about the visit, Rector Ilshat Gafurov said, “Long before the coronavirus pandemic, we decided that every structural unit should have an in-house center for digital technology, The fact that we relatively quickly and smoothly shifted to distance education proves that the decision was correct.”

Center for Digital Transformation will become the coordinating platform for all these smaller centers. They will analyze global practices of digital transformation, offer new solutions, and evaluate KFU’s activities in this sphere.

CDT will concentrate on creating and implementing digital solutions for medicine, industry, driverless transport, education, economy, services, and other areas. As of this moment, there is already an extensive network of partners and clients in many fields.

The Center will also launch test production lines for its products and design hardware. There will be a classroom of supercomputing and cloud computing and a student construction bureau.

Director of the Center for Digital Transformation Dmitry Chikrin informed that a number of projects have been launched, in particular, pertaining to artificial intelligence in healthcare, such as epidemic prevention mechanism calculations. Digital doubles for industrial production are also being designed.

CDT plans to present first solutions in July 2020.
