A board meeting was held on 28^th May in a video conference format.

Director of the University’s Legal Department Gulnaz Sibgatullina also retained her position as Secretary of the Board.

Among the other questions on today’s agenda were:

- KFU’s measures in COVID-19 epidemic prevention and containment;

- renaming the Yelabuga City School N 5 into the University School and moving it under the purview of the KFU Yelabuga Institute;

- changes to the KFU’s Project 5-100 roadmap for 2018 – 2020.

In his report on the COVID-19 situation, Rector Ilshat Gafurov gave an overview of the measures taken by the University. In particular, students were moved to distance learning since 19^th March, and the majority of the staff has been working from home since 30^th March. Dormitory payments for students were suspended until end of academic year, and grocery packages are being distributed regularly to all students in dormitories. So far, 31,743 have been given out. Furthermore, over a hundred students have found temporary employment at the University. Daily health monitoring of students and staff is conducted. The Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology are actively involved in COVID-19 research and treatment.

President Minnikhanov voiced praise with regards to the taken steps and called it exemplary.

Further on the agenda, the Board approved the establishment of the University School in Yelabuga.

In conclusion, Vice-Rector for Strategic and Economic Development Marat Safiullin spoke about the latest results of the Project 5-100 Competitiveness Program. The Board gave advice on correcting the University’s mission statement, key factors of competitive positioning, and tighter integration with the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The participants then voted for proposals on financial planning, property management, and intellectual rights policies.
