KFU signed a scientific cooperation agreement with Thai and Japanese universities

On March 19, Kazan Federal University signed a quadripartite agreement on scientific cooperation with Kyoto University (Japan), Ritsumeikan University (Japan) and Mahidol University (Thailand).

The agreement is the result of long-term collaboration between the Head of the Laboratory of Intelligent and Robotic Systems of the Higher Institute of ITIS KFU, Ph.D Evgeni Magid and Ph.Ds Fumitoshi Matsuno (Kyoto University), Mikhail Svinin (Ritsumeikan University), Jackrit Sutakorn (Mahidol University). Since 2019, teams have been working in a joint three-year research project “Informational system for management of flood and land slide disaster areas using a distributed heterogeneous robotic team” with the RFBR, JST and NSTDA foundations support. The new agreement considers activities aimed for scientific and socio-economic development of East Asia, including joint research projects, preparation of joint scientific publications and IP, organizing scientific conferences and workshops. The agreement also includes a short-term (up to six months) exchange of postgraduate students that work within the four laboratories’ research projects in the field of robotics.

On the part of KFU, the agreement was signed by Vice-Rector for External Affairs L. Latypov and professor E. Magid; on the part of Kyoto University - Dean of the Graduate School of Engineering professor M. Oshima and professor F. Matsuno; on the part of Mahidol University – Acting Vice-President for Research and Scientific Affairs professor W. Kokhakarn and professor J. Sutakorn; from the University of Ritsumeikan - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University T. Morishima and professor M.M. Svinin.
