Attaché for Education of the Embassy of Spain in Russia visited Kazan Federal University

A meeting with Jose Aurelia Llaneza Villanueva was held on 5th March.

The University was represented by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Linar Latypov, employees of the International Office, and some other colleagues. Director of the School N 19 of the city of Kazan Andrey Talmanov was also invited.

Linar Latypov briefly spoke about cooperation with Spanish academics. In 2016 – 2020, 320 research papers have been co-authored by them and KFU. Academic mobility and student exchange are also in good shape.

“We’d like to see Kazan University as a hub spreading bilingual education in the Republic of Tatarstan. We propose to open a teaching methodology center to support our secondary schools in bilingual education. School N 19, where there is a teacher of Spanish language, is our main platform for that,” said Gulnara Sadykova, Deputy Director of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication.

Mr. Villanueva reacted, “I like the idea of KFU being the center of Spanish language propagation in Tatarstan because it’s a prestigious, glorious and powerful institution.”

Further procedures to implement the mentioned measures were then discussed.
