Delegation of Nazarbayev University

Colleagues from Kazakhstan arrived on 11th December.

The Nazarbayev University team comprised Head of the Admission Unit Ayzhamal Zhazykpayeva, Associate Professor Duyshonkul Shamatov, Manager of the Admission Unit Nurkhan Omarbekov, Chief Manager for Academic and Student Affairs of the Higher School of Education Aydana Sirgebayeva, and Manager of the Department of Student Affairs Nadezhda Nikiforova.

Vice-Rector of KFU Linar Latypov spoke about our institution. “The University currently puts emphasis on research projects, not on agreement signings,” he emphasized. “It’s important that academics themselves initiate new projects. We have to conduct joint seminar and conferences for young scientists.”

Several other KFU employees also briefly introduced their respective programs, including software engineering, business, and medicine.

Vice-Rector Latypov listed some information about cooperation of Kazakhstan, which has been developing at an impressive pace. Currently, KFU has 697 Kazakhstani students. In 2016 – 2019, 99 peer-reviewed papers have been prepared with colleagues from the Central Asian country.

Ms. Zhazykpayeva briefly introduced Nazarbayev University. Later, the delegation visited the Institute of Psychology and Education, the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology, and the Institute of International Relations. The tour is set to continue today, 12th December.
