Advanced training programs discussed with Kazzinc

Negotiations with the Kazakhstani metallurgical powerhouse were held on 25th November.

Kazzinc was represented by Chief Administrative Officer Andrey Lazarev; KFU dispatched Vice-Rector for Research Danis Nurgaliev and employees of two institutes.

In his presentation, Mr. Lazarev mentioned, “Kazan University can boast excellent graduates and research. This all is of interest to Kazzinc, the largest company of Eastern Kazakhstan. We are talking about both higher education and advanced training for our workers. We have our corporate university, and your lecturers can cooperate with it as well.

“As our enterprise is the pillar of the city’s economy, we are interested in healthcare development. It would be very interesting to dispatch your health professionals to our towns and local hospitals, where they can give expert advice. Another question is journalism. We want to help our media advance in their work.”

After the meeting, Dr. Nurgaliev shared, “We don’t educate mining industry specialists at Kazan University, but we are interested in arranging ties with this company. They have robust environmental management and staff management systems. We’ve agreed to stimulate Kazakhstani students of KFU to be employed at Kazzinc. We can prepare them better for such work by joining efforts, such as in research.”
